I Promise To Always Be Your Biggest Fan

My sweet husband,
Life is full of ups and downs.
Life is full of tears and sorrow.
Death and sadness.
Life-changes and uncertainty.
New babies and new dynamics.
Life sends us curve balls and sometimes hits us head-on, unable to move and uncertain where to go next.

BUT, I promise that through it all, I will always be your biggest fan.

I’ll be your biggest fan when you receive the promotion at work, or when you get passed over for it.
I’ll be your biggest fan when you drive a brand new car or a beat up truck.
I’ll be your biggest fan when you can fix the clogged toilet, or when you have to call a plumber.
I’ll be your biggest fan through restful nights or sleepless nights as we take turns holding our newborn baby.
I’ll be your biggest fan when whether we live in a small 3-bedroom house or a gargantuan five-bedroom dream home.
I’ll be your biggest fan when you lose your cool or when you patiently explain to our children how much Jesus loves them and has a unique and amazing plan for their lives.

I promise that through it all, I will always be your biggest fan.

I’ll be your biggest fan when the bills are paid early or when they are falling behind because of unexpected car breakdowns and medical bills.
I promise to always kiss you goodnight – whether we feel head-over-heels in love or we are covered in baby vomit and running with no sleep and WAY too many cups of coffee.
I promise to hold your hand in public – even when we have a nonsensical fight about what we should make for dinner or what our kids should be for Halloween.
I promise to always wear my wedding ring with confidence, because we vowed to love each other through sickness and in health, in good times and in bad.
I promise to always cheer you on and encourage you to continue being the best version of you.

I promise that through it all, I will ALWAYS be your biggest fan.

I thank you for always loving imperfect, overzealous, way-too-sensitive me.

Today, we remember and acknowledge just how beautiful marriage is – to vow to love one another when you are put together and when you are falling apart.

We vow to hold hands through our personal, spiritual, and emotional roller coasters. We promise to never give up on one another and to let God use our stories of hope and turmoil for good.

Today and every day, let us be our spouse’s biggest fan!
